Resilience speaker Kate Gladdin interacts with audience from stage

Resilience expert Kate Gladdin learned how to triumph through life’s darkest moments.

…and you can too!

THE UNIMAGINABLE

When motivational speaker, author, and coach Kate Gladdin was 20 years old, she woke up in the middle of the night to find out her older sister had died in a tragic road accident. Suddenly, everything she knew about her life, her future, and her family shattered in a heartbeat.

Just like Gladdin, we all face loss in different ways every day, because adversity is a part of life. There’s no getting around it–only through it–and the most vital tool we need to overcome the unexpected is resilience.

It was this realization that led Gladdin to become a resilience expert, life coach, and motivational speaker. Through her own proven three-step strategy using the 3 Rs–to recognize, reflect, and redirect–she now has the skills to use anytime she feels helpless and wants to take back control over any circumstance she faces.

Kate speaks from experience—and from the heart. She understands how overwhelming, confusing, and engulfing some challenges can be.

Despite being a high-achiever with a supportive family, there was a time when she was emotionally unable to cope with the deep upset of life’s losses, changes, and challenges.

The worst part? The unrealistic expectations she put on herself. And the self-loathing that followed. Her anxiety and shame caused behavior meltdowns that hurt those who loved her most.

To gain some sort of  ‘control’ over her life, she spiraled into an anorexia vortex.

Despair made it impossible to show up in her life with commitment or consistency.

Hopelessness simmered behind the scenes of Kate’s life until she transformed it into a mission…

A passionate mission to truly live—for herself and for her sister Nicole.

She put one foot in front of the other, ditched the excuses, turned in her ‘victim card’, and started rebuilding a new version of her life.

For six years, she trained her body to become lean and strong—eventually competing and winning fitness competitions.

At the age of 20, she quit her “safe” corporate job and started a charitable foundation to help teens learn how to travel safely—in honor of Nicole.

Kate has spoken to over 300,000 people internationally and has been featured on TV shows such as A Current Affair, Studio 10, and Weekend Sunrise.

Additionally, she's been named one of Australia’s Top 100 Women of Influence.

In 2020, Kate moved over to the USA to pursue her career as a speaker, author, and coach. She now lives happily in Wyoming with her husband, Nate. Her favorite things include homemade pizza, teaching Aussie slang, and hiking in the mountains with their dog, Jaku.

Here’s a bit about me, minus the professional jargon. Most days, you'll find me with my hair in a bun and cozy socks on, enjoying the perks of running a business from home.

Friends and family called me ‘crazy’ for moving to the US in 2020. But nothing stops me from following my heart, not even a global pandemic. Shortly after arriving to be with my now husband, Nate, we adopted our fur baby, Jaku. I even interrupted a gym workout (my daily therapy) to pick him up after an unexpected phone call that he was ready to be ours just 8 days after I moved to the US!

I’m a proud Aussie having grown up on the bayside shores of Sydney, Australia and love visting back home at least a couple times a year. I’ve also been a US military spouse and am proud my husband’s 22 years of service.

We now host a podcast called “Train Wreck Your Life,” because that’s exactly what it’s felt as we figured out how to be together after meeting in Washington DC in 2018. But I wouldn’t change a thing. My life in the US is everything I dream of: full of adventures, challenges, and growth.

We moved from New Jersey when Nate retired in 2023 and now live in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming. It’s another move that people called ‘crazy’ because it made sense to wait a few more years - but I believe logic is for math equations, not for living your best life. Losing my sister so young taught me not to overthink decisions or take time for granted. That’s the actual life logic that’s never let me down.

When I'm not speaking, podcasting, or coaching, you’ll find me on a reformer pilates machine (I’m obsessed!), walking Jaku along on a trail, reading a historical fiction novel, or snuggling up with Nate on our favorite recliner.
